"Hanami"

　Hanami refers to the viewing of cherry blossoms from late March to April. During this period, mats are laid out under the trees and people enjoy themselves eating, drinking and singing songs under the beautiful blossoms. Although the blossoms can be enjoyed during the day, such blossom viewing parties usually take place in the evening with people staking out places under the most beautiful trees from as early as the morning.
